Catalog Printing with Adhesive Binding:

Catalogs are information tools. In catalog printing, digital printing is used in low circulation and offset printing is used in high circulation. The material for printing the catalog is: matte and glossy cellophane and local UV. One of the prominent features of catalogs is having a large number of pages, so one step is added to the Digital printing of catalogs: binding.

Binding is one of the most delicate and crucial steps in the design process from digital printing to cataloging. so many exquisite works are destroyed at this stage and almost ruined. The set of folds, the arrangement of folded forms together, the cover and finally the volumetric cut of the printed sheets of the catalog is called "binding". Different methods can be used in the binding process according to the number, type of paper and type of printing. Of course, binding is divided into two general methods: single-leaf and non-single-leaf binding. Wire (loop and flat) - adhesive binder (hot glue, cold glue, heating) - stapler - hard cover

Digital catalog printing with adhesive binding Similar to digital printing with staple binding, the papers are placed side by side and connected to each other from the bottom, with the difference that in the last stage of the work, the catalog is cut and then glued. The catalogs are bound in two ways: hot glue and cold glue.

Digital Catalog Printing with Hot Glue Binding:

In the binding of catalogs with hot glue, binding is done by hot glue and by a thermal binding machine which is used for catalogs with a large number of pages, this method is also called thermal binding. In this binding, the papers are put together after folding (arrangement), then with a thin layer of polyvinyl acetate solid adhesive; Which is heated inside the tank of the device and becomes liquid; It sticks to the cover.

The hot glue catalog binding is done because in catalogs with a large number of pages, the punch does not tolerate holding the sheets and hot glue must be used. The quality of hot glue is higher than punching, but in terms of price, printing catalogs with hot glue is more expensive. The catalog cover in this type of binding can also be selected for heating the interior plates or higher heating. This type of binding has a high strength and durability, but the type of paper and the number of pages have a great impact on its quality.

Digital Catalog Printing with Cold Glue Binding:

In general, the basic principles of hot binding are the same as cold glue, but the working process of these two binders is different. This type of binder uses a very strong polyurethane (PUR) adhesive. Cold adhesive binding is of high quality and strength, three to four times stronger than hot glue, and can be easily applied with a variety of composites and coatings without causing any problems.

The cold glue binding machine takes the paper and cover with clips and rubs a thin layer of glue on the paper using rolls. Catalog binding time with cold glue is longer than hot glue binding, but the strength created with cold glue is higher. For this reason, in general, digital printing of catalogs with cold glue binding is of higher quality than other printing methods.
